Kadi is a city and a municipality in Mehsana district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Geography

As of 2001 India census [GR|India] , Kadi had a population of 56,241. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kadi has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 68%. In Kadi, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Kadi is famous for Cotton Production in India. 'Kadi' is the epicentre for cotton ginning and pressing industry in Gujarat producing nearly 9% of the total production in India.

Kadi comprise of several villages which have highest population of Patel community. After cotton kadi is famous for lemon and vegetables. Commodity market of Kadi is very big. Kadi is one hour drive from Ahmedabad.
