Detour Memphis was also a performing arts space in Memphis, according to site owner/director - Nick A. Davis, via telephone interview.Created by Nick A. Davis in 2001, Detour Memphis was a launch pad for individuals who couldn't be published or recognized by mainstream media. The online magazine was founded in 2003.
Davis, a journalist by trade, is currently a graphic designer for a chemical plant but has his hands in several ventures. His hero is
Andy Warhol and otherpop art artists. Davis published Detour Memphis as a print publication yearly to mark another year of the magazine living, said Davis.Davis' expansion into
video andfilm came in 2005 - while working with local filmmakers in Memphis. His short films are produced on bothdigital andSuper 8 mm film .Detour Memphis was recently published six times a year compared to monthly when first started. Detour Memphis Television debuted this past October on Memphis' WMC TV 5. Detour Memphis Online Magazine folded November 7, 2007. All related elements under the Detour Memphis Productions banner closed also. Rumor has it that Davis is planning a travel blog and a departure from Memphis, TN.

website /design consulting service), and" On The 6…" (a weeklywebcast ).
