Finham ,Coventry ,England .In September 2003, it became the first
Mathematics and Computing College in Coventry. The current head teacher is Mr. Paul Logan, with Deputy Head teachers Mr. Knapp, Mrs. Maginnis and Mrs Astling. The previous headteacher had been Mr. Chris Hunt who was head between 1988 and 2000 when he moved onto work with the Local Education Authority. The school has approximately 1,500 students across the five mandatory years and the two optional years of the
sixth form . It has achieved some of the best averaged exam results from the state secondary school sector in Coventry for several years.History
Finham Park School opened in 1970, but not all of its classrooms were used until late 1971. Before Finham Park School opened, pupils in the area went to a variety of Coventry schools.
Former England (1971-1975) rugby player Peter Rossborough was deputy headteacher at the school during the mid-1980s.
A recently built sixth-form block was opened in April 2006 (approx.), and the old sixth-form block became used for Supportive Studies for the main school. In early 2006, whilst the sixth form were moving from the old block into the new block, the old sixth-form block sustained structural damage when a car crashed into the side of it. The old block was unusable for months until it was repaired. The driver had been in school to hear of the bad behaviour of a student relative, angry at the news they missed the turning whilst exiting the school.Fact|date=March 2007
In 2005, Finham Park School became the first school in Coventry to offer the
IB Diploma Programme , as an alternative to A Levels. Upper sixth form students, the first to take the IB diploma from the school, sat their IB examinations in May 2007.In 2007, Finham Park was one of the first schools in England to test out the 'Biometric Cashless system' when buying food and drink items from school. Students have their thumbprint scan converted into an 11 digit number, and can only pay by having their thumbprint scanned into a system. Students can top up their account by putting money into an instant top up machine, or if they have a cheque they can give it to the Admin staff and they will add it manually; a downside being that it can take up to one hour to add the money onto a student's account.
Bishop Ullathorne RC School is close by, towards the A45. The school gates of the two schools are at 15-20 minutes walking distance apart. These schools have a long history of rivalry, quite often resulting in fights and disputes requiring police intervention.Houses
The school has four houses:
Each pupil belongs to one of the houses and is allowed to participate in competitions within the school to earn house points for their allocated house.
As of the 2008/09 school year, houses have ceased to exist and have been replaced by "colleges" known as eastgate, northgate, westgate and southgate.

Finham Park School has a consequence system for bad behaviour and a reward system for good progress and work in class.
Bad behaviour
Bad behaviour events (C1 to C4) are recorded on the classroom board and recorded onto teAM.
*C1 - Verbal warning
*C2 - Second verbal warning
*C3 - 1 Hour detention, and a letter is sent to the miscreants parents
*C4 - Isolation for a period of time, and the miscreants parents are contacted
*Expulsion (used rarely) - Pupil continues behaving at a level that is not acceptable, and has gone through the consequence stages a number of times. An 'ATS' (around the school) is issued if a pupil breaks a rule (or rules) outside lessons, in a break or lunchtime. If a pupil gets an ATS, they will be given a 'C3'.
If a pupil does not hand in homework for the set date, they will receive a warning. They will receive two further warnings and if the piece of homework is not handed in within the time the teacher has given them, they will receive a one hour detention. If this carries on in the same subject, they will get detentions each time they forget to complete a piece of homework.
Good behaviour
Pupils will receive collage credits (CC's for short) for good contributions in class, e.g. answering a question or handing in homework on time. This is put on the classroom board and recorded on teAM.
Collage credits will also be issued for attendance and taking part in inter-house activities. If a pupil gets a certain amount of collage credits, they will receive a house certificate (bronze, silver, gold, platinum).
Every time a pupil gets 60 house-points then they are automatically entered in an end of term prize draw where they can win prizes such as home computers, MP3 players and laptops. If a pupil gets more than 60 collage credits then they will be entered into the draw more than once.
