Yulee High School

Yulee High School

Yulee High School is a comprehensive high school located in Yulee, Florida. The current structure opened in August, 2006.

Yulee had been the site of a high school earlier, which had originally opened in the 1930s. However, in 1965 the Nassau County School Board made the decision to shut down YHS, and students within the Yulee attendance zone began attending Fernandina Beach High School, in nearby Fernandina Beach, Florida. However, with rapid growth in the Yulee area starting in the mid-1990s, it was realized that a new high school was needed, and the school board voted to construct an all-new YHS. The initial graduating class of Yulee High School, in 2007, had a 71% graduation rate. 23% of the graduates graduated with honors.

The mascot of the sports teams for YHS is the Hornet.
