Preeti Choraria was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera "EastEnders". She was played by Babita Pohoomull. On 15 February 2007, during an interview on "This Morning", Shilpa Shetty confirmed that she had been asked to take the role of Preeti's sister in "EastEnders". Shetty said that after much thought she would be unable to take the role as it would mean all her other arrangements would have to go on hold. Preeti is a beauty therapist. She worked at a beauty parlour called La Jolie Madame, but when his wife Tanya Branning's business started failing, Max Branning suggested that she should poach Preeti to work at her beauty parlour, Booty, as Preeti had a large clientèle.

She had a one-night stand with Sean Slater in November, when his fiancée Ruby Allen was in Venice. Sean's sister Stacey slapped her, but they have since become friends.

Preeti attended Tanya's birthday party with colleague Chelsea Fox. She dressed up in high heels and enhanced her breasts with padding to impress Mickey Miller, but fell over when she saw him as she was not used to wearing the shoes. When she got up, Mickey's girlfriend, Li Chong saw the padding and announced it to the pub. Preeti ran back to Chelsea's house, distraught.

On her birthday on 26 February 2007, Chelsea and Li organised an Ann Summers-style party at Stacey Slater's house.

On 22 March, Bradley Branning asked her out after Deano Wicks was unsuccessful in chatting her up. She has since entered into a full relationship with Bradley and the pair have kissed and spent the night together. She was later dumped by Bradley because he still had feelings for Stacey Slater. She went on a date with salesman Warren Stamp, but he attacked her, bruising her arm.

When Li manipulated her boyfriend Mickey into becoming an escort, Preeti taught Mickey the finer arts of massage in an effort to get close to him. When Li discovered this she was jealous. Li took the opportunity to pay back Preeti during a ruckus at party held at Shirley Carter's flat by viciously standing on her toe.

She flirted with Mickey when helping him to find Gus Smith's dog, Wellard, who was kidnapped. Preeti continued to hold a torch for Mickey and was put out when he and Gus went on a date with twin sisters Tamara and Tonicha. Mickey however remained oblivious to Preeti's affections and merely saw her as a good friend.

On 2 January 2008, Preeti was fired by Tanya because vandals broke in to Booty after she forgot to lock up the night before.

On 3 January 2008, Tanya apologised to Preeti about her behavior, and made it up to her by offering her the position of manager at Booty. Preeti accepted her apology, but did not want to take the job. She explained that it was time for her to move on from the Square. As she was leaving the Square she bumped into a good looking man who chatted her up and she was last seen walking off with the mystery man.
