scrolling shooter arcade game developed byToaplan published by Taito in 1987. Its original title was "Hishou Zame" (飛翔鮫); the US title was "Sky Shark" (licensed toRomstar for distribution).Piloting a
bi-plane , the player needs to take out land based targets such as tanks and turrets and shoot enemy airplanes in order to collect special pickups to increase the plane's firepower. According to the story ofBatsugun , the pilot of the bi-plane was called "Rom Schneider".Legacy
"Flying Shark" was converted to the
Amiga ,Commodore 64 ,DOS ,ZX Spectrum ,Amstrad CPC ,Atari ST ,FM Towns , andNintendo Entertainment System .There was also a sequel, "
Fire Shark " (also distributed byRomstar in the US). It was released for theSega Mega Drive and Arcade in 1990 and is called "Same! Same! Same!" in Japan.External links
