Pêra Rocha (Rocha Pear) is an autochthonous Portuguese variety of
pear . The origin of the variety Rocha reports to 1836, inSintra 's municipality. This variety was casually obtained from a seed, in Mr. Pedro António Rocha's farm, whose family name inspired variety name. "Pêra Rocha" is produced in several places in Portugal.
