Enrico Pedrini was born in
Montesano , Filighera (Pavia), Italy in 1940. A theorist and collector ofConceptual Art , he places particular emphasis on the work ofBernar Vernet , Art and Language, andVictor Burgin . Pedrini’s collection is focused onDada ,Fluxus ,Minimal Art ,Arte Povera ,Vienna Aktionismus , andGraffiti Art . His books and articles examine issues inAnthropological Art , Conceptual Art, andPossibilism , and includeJohn Cage , Happenings, and Fluxus (1986) and The Quantic Machine and the Second Avant-Garde (1991) in which he discusses the relation between quantum theory and the visual arts movements of the 1960s.Pedrini is currently studying the interaction of dissipating systems,
chaos theory , and new potential in art. He is well known as a curator of international exhibitions, including at Studio Oggetto in Milan, Gallery Persano in Turin, andMusée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain in Nice, and at theWilliamsburg Art & Historical Center in New York City. He curated, withWolfgang Becker , the Taiwanese Pavilion at the 1995Venice Biennale . His book "Irreversibility and the Avant-Garde: an Essay on Physics and Modern Culuture", 2004, (ISBN 1-893207-02-1) is available in English.He is currently a professor of
epistemology in Italy.
