Enrique Crespo (born 1941 in
Montevideo ,Uruguay ) is a trombonist and founding member of theGerman Brass ensemble.He studied music and architecture in Montevideo and in
Buenos Aires . He worked as principal trombonist,jazz soloist, arranger and bandleader for TV productions. In 1967 he studied trombone and composition inBerlin . He was appointed principal trombonist of theBamberg Symphony Orchestra in 1969 and principal trombonist of theRadio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart in 1980.In 1974 he was one of the founder members of the German Brass Quintet, which brought together leading players from Germany's orchestras: the other members were
Konradin Groth andMartin Kretzer (trumpet s),Wolfgang Gaag (French Horn ) andDieter Cichéwicz (tuba ). In 1985 the group was extended to 10 musicians. It has become the most popular and successful professional Brass ensemble in Germany.Fact|date=June 2007 The group has produced more than 20 CD recordings and it regularly tours around the world.Crespo has also arranged a number of pieces in a variety of styles (including baroque, classical, jazz, folk and popular music from Latin and South America) for German Brass.
