Its length is up to 36 cm.The roughtail catshark is found on the upper continental and insular slopes. It has a caudal crest of large
denticle s, and feeds on deepwater shrimps. There is partial segregation by depth.Coloration is pale yellowish brown, strikingly marked along the sides and back with a row of dark brown blotches and spots.
