- Brazilian general election, 1998
General elections were held in Brazil in 1998. They resulted in the re-election of Fernando Henrique Cardoso. The amendment that allowed a president to serve two consecutive terms had been passed by Congress the previous year. Cardoso won the election in the first round, after winning more than 50% of the votes.
That year elections for governors of the 26 states and the federal district were also held, as were races for senators and deputies.
