Glastonbury High School is a public,
co-educational high school located inGlastonbury, Connecticut .Glastonbury High School is the only high school in the town of Glastonbury, Connecticut. It serves roughly 2,100 students and roughly 130 faculty members. Activities
Glastonbury High School (GHS) offers a variety of clubs and activities to students. It enjoys some of the best sports teams in the state; most notably its
cross-country and track teams. The 2007 Boys Indoor Track Team won the national championship in the Distance Medley Relayfact|date=April 2008. Since 2003, the GHS Boys Soccer Team has made it to the final four of the state tournament in 4 out of 5 years, including a co-championship in 2003 and a victory over Farmington to win the class LL State Championship in 2005. Glastonbury is known for having quite a home field advantage due to its rowdy yet spirited fans. It is always a feared place to play, and has earned the student section at soccer games the nickname "the black hole".
Renovation
In 2002, citizens voted to have Glastonbury High School renovated. The renovation has been completed as of September, 2007. New science labs and classrooms were added to the school and various other improvements were made to the school building. The old science wing,
auditorium ,gym facilities, andfield house received major renovations, and the library andcafeteria each received an addition. The renovation increased the capacity of the school from 1,500 students to 2,300 students, and offers students a better learning environment.Building History

*1956: Additional classroom wing
*1971: (Former) science wing, gymnasium, and auditorium were built
*1991: Additional classroom wing constructed and renovations done to the building
