Students ranked first in CT on the Connecticut Academic Performance Test.From the Class of 2005, 93% attended four-year and two-year colleges and universities.Simsbury High School was selected as having one of the top 100 outstanding music programs in the United States.Mean SAT score (2005) 1170.Students at 75th percentile and above (2005)-mean SAT scores: 660 verbal, 670 math.Students in bottom 25th percentile, had scores at national average. Total minority population 2002-2003 in all schools 8.2%. Simsbury High School offers 33 varsity sports with 72 competitive teams that involve over 1180 individual students. The athletic program has been honored for 6 consecutive years with the Michaels Achievement Cup for outstanding achievement in athletics in the state of Connecticut. About 75% of the student body is involved in clubs and activities.Simsbury High School prides itself on its record of outstanding student achievement and rigorous academic standards. Based on national rankings, it is one of the most competitive high schools ranking in the nations top 50, public or private, in the country.

The Simsbury High School Trojans plays in the CIAC system for public school sports in the state of Connecticut. It is part of the CCC, Central Connecticut Conference. It has a long-standing rivalry with Glastonbury High School known as the "Battle of the Bury's." The school is known for having a notorious fan section at their hockey games year after year.

Simsbury High School was rated the overall #1 school for sports in Connecticut, #2 in New England.
