Stathas (Greek: Σταθάς), is a small mountainous village of
Greece . It is located in the north west part of Greece and belongs to theAetolia-Acarnania prefecture. The village was known as Dounista (Greek: Δούνιστα or Ντούνιστα) until the late 20th century. The village belongs to theInachos municipality (Valtou province). Its population is estimated about 467 inhabitants for the municipal district and 168 for the main village. The altitude of the main village is 640 meters above the sea level. The nearest major cities are Agrinion, Amfilochia and Arta.History
