The pale spotted spotted catshark, "Asymbolus pallidus", is a cat shark of the family Scyliorhinidae found only off Queensland, at depths of between 225 and 400 m. Its length is up to 44 cm.

The pale spotted catshark has a small body, with a slender caudal peduncle. The dorsal and pelvic fins are low, and the anal fin base is equal to or shorter than the pelvic-anal space. The teeth are ridged, with 5 main cusps.

Coloration is spotted, very pale covered with widely-spaced, sharply-defined dark brown spots - dark spots or blotches beneath the eye are absent.

Reproduction is oviparous.
