Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife (Quebec)

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife (in French: Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune) is responsible for the protection of flora and fauna and manage natural resource extraction in the province of Quebec.

The current Minister is Nathalie Normandeau.

Responsibilities

MNRW is responsible for managing the natural resources of Quebec: animals, plants, aquatic species, minerals, wood, territory, energy, etc. A few examples of their areas of responsibilities include: running and maintaining provincial parks, issuing hunting and fishing licenses, enforcing hunting and fishing rules, forest fire management/suppression, and monitoring of endangered species.
