:"See UHS for other uses of the initialism, or see Unionville High School (Ontario) for the school located in Markham, Ontario."

Unionville High School is the only public high school in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District. It is located right next to Charles F. Patton Middle School and right down the road from Unionville Elementary. The District Office is located in the front of the high school.

Renovation

The renovation vote has failed, twice. Due to overcrowding from the incoming classes, "modular" trailers have been set up in the courtyard. However, the school board has figured out a way to "hopefully" make it work (without a referendum). More trailers will be set up for immediate overcrowding relief, but construction is set to begin in the spring of '09.

Awards

It has received state recognition for excellence and high achievement for preparing students for higher education. It consistently ranks as one of the top public high schools in the state of Pennsylvania, according to PSSA scores and other means of ranking. Its marching band recently won the Gator Bowl competition in Jacksonville, FL, sweeping every catagory in both the field competetion and the parade competetion, and performed pregame at the prestigious bowl game.

Athletics

Unionville High School is home to many successful athletic teams. Unionville had been, consistently, a dominant team in the SCCL (Southern Chester County League), however, the league recently merged in 2006 with the Chest-Mont League. The Unionville Indians Football team was 2005 and 2006 SCCL Champions making back to back playoff appearances. In 2007 the football team won the Ches-Mont League American Division after going undefeated. The other athletic teams at Unionville High School are also up and coming. Recently, in 2006, the Unionville High School Boys soccer team had the most successful season in school history. They pulled out wins over top ranked teams in the state, and made a run at the State Championship. They lost to Manheim Township ranked 9th in the nation, 1-0. The Tennis teams at Unionville High School have also been very successful in past years, winning numerous back to back SCCL Championships. Ben Vance is one of the most notable players. Since 2004 the Unionville Indians Lacrosse teams have developed, and been improving ever since. It is possible that they may capture another playoff appearance soon. Finally, the UHS boys wrestling team (16-5) has also recently capped off their most successful season in recent school history, with multiple tournament championships leading to the Indians being ranked 3rd locally. As well as being ranked 8th in District 1, they look to improve on their current success and hope to capture a League title next season. Specifically, the Girls Cross Country Team has won the SCCL title four years in a row (first out of ten teams), placed as a top five team in the district four years in a row (out of sixty teams), and a top ten team in the state for AAA (out of over 500 teams), again, four years in a row. The team was ranked by dyestat.com as the 20th best team in the nation in 2004. It is the only team in recent Unionville history (possibly ever at Unionville) to, in a single year, capture both a State Team Championship and an Individual Title (Katie Thaeder). In 2006, Paul Springer finished his cross country season as the runner up at the state championship meet and as a qualifier for Footlocker Nationals. During his indoor campaign he was the state champion in the mile run, setting a state indoor record of 4:12. In 2004 Kyle Davis won the individual state title for men's golf. He was the second male to win the PIAA state championship from Unionville, Jeff Craig won the title in 1986. Davis also won league titles his junior and senior year. The men's golf team had won 10 straight league titles and from 2001-2003 winning the team district title which is the highest level of competition for the team (no team state tournament). Unionville High school and Kennett high school have an intense rivalry, but statistically Unionville has been dominant in every aspect. Over the years, the Win loss ratio has gone 3-1 in Unionville's favor.

Trivia

Unionville High School was the alma mater of "John David Stutts", the man who killed "Buckwheat" -both played by Eddie Murphy on "Saturday Night Live". The school was credited and shown briefly on "SNL" out of recognition to the drama club who had put on a production of "Who Shot Buckwheat".
