- Little Princesses
Little Princesses is a charity in the
United Kingdom which supplies and funds high qualitywig s made of real hair to children suffering hair loss as a result ofcancer treatment. The charity was originally set up by the parents of Hannah Tarplee, who lost her battle with
cancer in June 2005. The charity is now run byHereford Cathedral Junior School in conjunction with Hannah's parents, Simon & Wendy and Tracey Prosser. This charity is similar to the United States-based
Wigs for Kids .Hair loss is caused by the strong
chemotherapy drugs which are used to treat most childhood cancers. Although the NHS can provide wigs, they are often of a very poor quality and look unrealistic. The charity aims to provide the best wigs available. The Little Princess Trust, as it is formally known, is a registered charity.
