The mall features 13 anchors as well as a variety of theme restaurants, casual dining and entertainment venues. Discover Mills is the first mall in the United States to have naming rights[1][2]. Discover Card has naming rights with The Mills Corporation from the mall's opening in November 2001 through 2011, hence the tag line "Where Discover Card Is The Smart Choice". Discover Mills opened as an outlet mall, but has begun to evolve into an entertainment mall, with the additions of AMC Discover Mills 18 on December 17, 2003 and Medieval Times on July 21 of 2006. Simon Property Group is the current owner of Discover Mills from the Mills Corporation's acquisition. When the mall was first planned in 1998, the mall name was "Sugarloaf Mills" named from the Sugarloaf Parkway road on which the mall is located.
