Adventures In Missions (AIM) is a Christian evangelical short-term missions organization whose purpose is to mobilize and equip the Church for missions.
Adventures In Missions was founded in 1989 by Seth Barnes to facilitate youth group missions trips.
Today, Adventures In Missions sends out short-term missionaries to all six inhabited continents. Mission Trips are available for youth groups, adult groups, and individuals ages 15 and up. Individual trips range in length from 1 week to 11 months.
Adventures In Missions founded the First Year Missionary program, which is a 9-month-long discipleship and missions internship opportunity for those 18-24 years old. And in 2006, Adventures In Missions pioneered 'The World Race', which is a mission trip that has participants ministering for 11 months in 11 countries as they race around the world.
The missions organization has five objectives that characterize every mission trip:
# Listening Prayer - Hear and discern God's voice through prayer, then obey the direction He gives for personal ministry.
# Sharing Your Faith - Pray about whom to share with, what to share, and how to share.
# Building Meaningful Relationships - Meet a local person, seek out that person each day and demonstrate the love of Jesus.
# Meeting Felt Needs - Meet a local person's practical needs through construction, repair work, or something very specific in response to the Lord's prompting.
# Debrief and Respond - Identify what God has done each day and what remains to be done. Learn to respond appropriately to God in gratitude, praise, worship and service.
