Among his many puppet characters were the tiny schoolgirl dummy Daisy May, acockney boy dummy Andy theSpiv and two dogs (one dummy and one real!). He also made frequent appearances on television in the 1950s and 1960s.His character Daisy May is identified as the origin of
Royal Navy slang "Daisy" for a sailor named May. [Naval Slang/Surnames Marsh - Oakley, Royal Navy website [http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/server/show/nav.3835] accessed Jan 11, 2007]"Saveen" is a word of
Sanskrit origin which translates to "pleasing" "type of music" or harmony. It is a combination of two sounds "SA" meaning with and "VEEN" as in the Indian musical instrument "Veena". In this context it can also be translated to mean the one with the "Veena" pointing to the Hindu goddess "Saraswati".ee also
