Dago (comics)

Dago (comics)

Dago (real name Cesare Renzi[1]) is a comics character created in 1983 by Paraguayan writer Robin Wood and Argentine artist Alberto Salinas, for the Italian magazine Lanciostory.[2] In 1996 Salinas was replaced by Carlos Gómez[2] to draw the monthly series. The stories have been also published in most South American countries, as well as in Spain.

Overview

Dago tells about a 16th century Venetian nobleman who, after being betrayed by his best friend, turns himself into a mercenary. He takes part in the Sack of Rome (1527) as a defender of the city and, after obtaining his revenge, continues to travel around Europe, America, Africa and Asia, meeting several famous characters of history, but always living a solitary life.
