"The Thanos Quest" was a two-issue American comic book mini-series published in 1990 by Marvel Comics. The series was written by Jim Starlin, and drawn by Ron Lim. In 1991, Marvel Comics released a sequel, "The Infinity Gauntlet", a six-issue limited series also written by Jim Starlin and penciled by Ron Lim.

Plot summary

The Titan Thanos steals the six Infinity Gems from the cosmic entities the Elders of the Universe (the Gardener; Champion; Runner; Collector and Grandmaster respectively) and the concept being the In-Betweener. Thanos then mounts the gems on his left glove and creates The Infinity Gauntlet, with the intent of being the equal - and therefore consort - of Death. Ironically, the Gauntlet places Thanos above Death and she cannot acknowledge him now that he is her superior in every way. Thanos, now omnipotent, is left to ponder his next move. [The Thanos Quest #1 - 2 (1990).]
