Next single = "Savin' Me " (2006)"Animals" is the second single byCanadian rock bandNickelback off their fifth studio albumAll the Right Reasons .The song is about a guy (presumbly a teenager) who picks up his girlfriend. They proceed to have sex in the car acting wild like "animals," until the girl's father catches them in the act at the end of the song. It can be compared with one of the band's previous singles, "
Figured You Out ," in that it contains strong sexual overtones and metaphors. The song was a U.S. and Australian radio only single, therefore a music video was not made. It did considerably well for a radio only single, hitting #1 on the Mainstream rock chart and holding it for 6 weeks, #16 on the Modern rock chart, and even managing to chart on the Hot 100 at #97. In Australia the single managed to rise to #27.
"Animals" is often cited as a fan favorite off "All the Right Reasons", even though most (particularly those outside the U.S.) do not realize it was released as a single. A worldwide release is highly doubtful at this point, since Nickelback has stated that the re-release of "Rockstar" is the final single off the album. A possible explanation as to why a video was not made for the U.S. release of the song could be due to the sexually explicit lyrics, which may have made it difficult to make a video that wouldn't be banned by music networks such as
MTV andVH1 .The single cover is a nod to the cover of
Faith No More 's E.PSongs to Make Love To .Charts
