AuSM (Auckland Students' Movement @ AUT) is the
Students' association for students at theAuckland University of Technology , inAuckland ,New Zealand .The association owns and operates the campus' student bar "Vesbar", as well as providing services to the students and organising major events on campus such as the two-week long Orientation festival which occurs at the beginning of each academic year. The President of AuSM for 2007 and 2008 is Jan Herman, [ [http://ausm.org.nz/representation/executive/president.html Jan Herman] ] taking over from Paul Stewart who was president in 2005 and 2006. The General Manager is Sue Higgins who has been with the organisation for over 8 years.
The purpose of AuSM is to represent and serve its students through a range of services, including an advocacy and legal information, events, lodge bookings, discounted bus and train tickets, and student job search.

AuSM also provides a student magazine called Debate [ [http://ausm.org.nz/debate/view-magazine.html Debate] ] Debate is published once a week during the semesters, which is almost 30 publications annually.
The chief editor for this magazine is Ryan Boyd [ [http://ausm.org.nz/debate/editorial/ Ryan Boyd] ] . Debate also employees part-time editors, and on occasion AUT students themselves write for debate.
Clubs
AuSM supports and provides some funds for about 40 affiliated clubs [ [http://ausm.org.nz/component/option,com_uhp2/Itemid,23/ AuSM Clubs] ] within AUT University that are cultural, faculty, religious, social and sport clubs. Some of the biggest clubs are Society of Student Engineers (SoSE) [ [http://www.sose.org.nz SoSE] ] , The Breakfast Club [ [http://www.breakfastclub.org.nz Breakfast Club] ] and Chinese Students Association [ [http://www.autcsa.co.nz Chinese Student Association] ]

Vesbar
Vesbar [ [http://www.vesbar.co.nz Vesbar] ] is owned and operated by AuSM for it's students. Vesbar is opened during the semester weeks of university, excluding summer school.
Vesbar also the venue to many functions including hypnotist shows, and the paper, scissor, rock national competition [ [http://www.vesbar.co.nz/gigs.html Vesbar Gigs] ] .
Vesbar's current manager is Zane Chase.
