John Williams (January 7, 1807 – March 26, 1875) was an American merchant and miller from Rochester, New York.
Born in Utica, New York, he served as mayor of Rochester in 1853, and represented ushr|New York|29| in the United States House of Representatives in 1855 and 1856.
John Williams was a major general and served in the military both during the Civil War and the U.S. - Mexican War. He was known to have corresponded with Susan B. Anthony.
