John Richard Heaton Greenwood (born 11 September 1940 in Macclesfield) is a former England rugby union international flanker, captain of Waterloo, Cambridge University, Lancashire and England as well as national coach. He was the Assistant Bursar and a geography teacher at Stonyhurst College where he also coached rugby.
He also played in Italy at the Rugby Roma from 1973 to 1976,[2] resulting the Italian Championship's best try scorer in 1974 and 1975.
He gained five caps between 1966 and 1969. He is the father of England centre Will Greenwood. He was for many years a coach with Preston Grasshoppers.
