"Revolution in the Classroom" was the last Sex Pistols single release, pressed on various coloured vinyls. It was released in 1989, on the STP records label. The unusual thing about this release is that it is credited as a Sex Pistols recording, though it clearly was recorded by the band after they had officially broken up as a group, and by only some of the band members. However, it could be argued that since some of the original Pistols did contribute to the recording, using the name Sex Pistols is no different from the name being used to promote songs such as No One Is Innocent. It was later released through Skyclad Records of Sussex, New Jersey and compiled by mastering engineer Marty Munsch for Cassette Productions Incorporated.

The song, along with its B-Side "Schools Are Prisons", were both included on the Ex-Pistols album - Deny LP. They also appeared on two widely available Dave Goodman Pistols albums disguised as genuine Sex Pistols recordings ("Pirates of Destiny" and "We Have Cum For Your Children").
