In March of 2005, the highly anticipated Jeff Stark Era began at 540am WLIE, formerly WLUX am which was previously owned by William Esquire Froelich. Stark brought his witty and controversial style, not to mention, his massive hands to the station once known as "The Pulse of Long Island". Train Wreck Radio debuted in April of that year and immediately began to pay dividends, doubling WLIE's audience from 6 to 12 people. Although the "Jeff Stark Era" was considered a great success and a Hall of Fame moment for the little radio station that could, its greatest era began that summer when a young energetic cast of recent Connecticut School of Broadcasting graduates came on the scene and redefined radio as we know it. Led by famous NASA astronaut Al Bean, the station went on to several quarters of high ratings and increased listenership. Unfortunately, all great things came to an end, when the station was sold in 2006 and a new era began at 2131 Deer park avenue. For further info visit http://www.trainwreckradio.org/
