The lake contains many fish, but primarilyBluegill ,Northern Pike , Pumpkinseed Sunfish,Yellow Bullhead , andYellow Perch .The city of Bloomington operates a swimming beach on the east side of Bush Lake, just across from Hyland Lake Park Reserve, more commonly known as "Chutes and Ladders." The beach is one of Minnesota's most popular beaches, with over 100,000 visitors per year.
