It is the birthplace of many new and popular works such as Gregg Coffin's Convenience and Five Course Love. Geva is an abbreviation of Genesee Valley Arts Foundation. Founded in 1972, Geva Theatre Center is located at 75 Woodbury Boulevard in Rochester, New York.
Geva will host the 2011 American Association of Community Theatre Festival.
History
The current building, originally constructed in 1868 as a Naval Armory and Convention Hall, was re-opened as a theatre in 1985 after extensive renovation. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
