Velvet Brown

Velvet Brown is an internationally recognized orchestral and chamber tubist, composer and educator. She is the principal tubist of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra [ [http://www.altoonasymphony.org/meettheASO.asp Altoona Symphony Orchestra - Meet the Musicians] (retrieved on December 2, 2006).] and has served as principal with the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra from 1989-2004, and as substitute or additional tubist with the Detroit Symphony, Saint Louis Symphony, San Francisco Women's Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra.

Brown is associate professor of tuba and euphonium at Pennsylvania State University. She composed "Te Dago Mi", a duet for tuba and euphonium with piano.
