Phosphate energy system

Phosphate energy system

The Phosphate Energy System is used to create energy within the body for explosive, high-intensity efforts. Its effective period lasts for approximately eight seconds. During this time, for it to be the major supplier of Adenosine Triphosphate, the heart rate needs to achieve at least 95 percent of the maximum. After the eight seconds of working at high intensity the lactic acid system will become more dominant. As soon as exercise begins, however, all three energy systems start to work.
