The A.M. is a New York band formed in 2002 by rock musician Michael Tighe, formerly of the Jeff Buckley Band. Members also include bassist Andrew Wyatt and drummer Parker Kindred.

History

After Jeff Buckley's death, Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred formed Black Beetle, along with Buckley's musician girlfriend Joan Wasser. Tighe had never seen Buckley's death as the end of his career, stating in 2003: "When Parker and I rehearsed with Jeff, I had flashes into the future. I saw a premonition that we were playing in the future and Jeff wasn’t there". With influences ranging from from 1970s glam rock to Joy Division and The Smiths, their sound has seen comparisons with Suede, David Bowie, King Crimson, [ [http://www.popmatters.com/music/reviews/a/am-stlp.shtml popmatters review of "The A.M."] ] Roxy Music, and T.Rex. In late 2004, Kindred left the band, to be replaced by another member of Jeff Buckley's band, Matt Johnson. [ [http://www.huntingbears.net/theam/news/ :: news :: ] ] A second album was started but the band members moved on to other projects, with Tighe still working on the album.
