Shrewsbury International School was established in 2003 in association with its parent school in England. It sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand. Although it is an independent school, it is closely affiliated to Shrewsbury School in the UK. The School reflects, replicates and achieves the high quality of education offered by its British sister school.

The school is divided into 3 schools: Pre prep school, Prep school, Senior school and follows the British curriculum.

History of Shrewsbury International School

Shrewsbury International School was founded in 2003. The first headmaster was Mr Stuart Morris, who had previously been headmaster of Harrow International School, Bangkok, Mr Morris left Shrewsbury in 2005. This post was then succeeded by Mr. Stephen Holroyd who was once a housemaster at Shrewsbury School, UK.

Houses

The House System was introduced in beging of school year 2007/2008 in alphabet letters and change in February 2008 in Nobel Peace Prize laureates.
* Mandela (orange and dark blue) - named after Nelson Mandela, Politician, anti-apartheid campaigner, prisoner, world statesman
* King (Blue and light blue) - named after Martin Luther King, Civil rights movement leader
* Schweitzer (red and white) - named after Albert Schweitzer, Doctor, surgeon, writer and musician.
* Suu Kyi (black and white) - named after Aung San Suu Kyi, Non-violent campaigner for human rights and democracy
* Teresa (purple and yellow) - named after Mother Teresa, Missionary work in India and around the world
* Williams (green and grey) - named after Jody Williams, Founding coordinator of The International Campaign to Ban Land Mines

All students and teachers are enrolled in the Houses. The Houses compete in a number of competitions and activities held throughout the year in order to win at the and of the year.
