frequency in January 1967. Before that time the station was on a closed loop and available only on campus. Weekday programming
The mainstay of the station has been "The Rise and Shine Morning Show". Johnny hosts the show along with co-host Dana. The Rise and Shine Morning Show airs weekdays from 6-to-9 a.m.
A program of growing excitement is the station's afternoon show, known as the "Tower Luv Hour" with host "Tower". Former co-host Mallory DeWees recently left WONU to accept a job with a record company. The show airs weekdays from 2-to-6 p.m.
Other weekday programming includes mid-day with Carl Fletcher from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., "
Total Axxess " with Wally from 6 to 9 p.m., the "All Request Hour" with Jordan from 9 to 10 a.m., and "Focus on the Family " from 5:30 to 6 a.m.Weekend programming
On Saturday and Sunday WONU broadcasts the Weekend 22 Countdown from 7-to-9 a.m. and 7-to-9 p.m. on Saturday and 7-to-9 p.m. on Sunday. The Sunday morning "Worship Now" program is hosted by Jordan from the Church of the Week, followed by a broadcast of the College Church of the Nazarene

WONU promotes and hosts Contemporary Christian concerts in the Kankakee area and on the Olivet Nazarene University campus. In addition to Christian music, WONU hosts types of performances such as Christian comedians.
Church of the Week
Every Sunday, WONU broadcasts live from a church in its
broadcast range . Jordan hosts the "Worship Now" program from the church's lobby area and the church is featured on the station throughout the following week.Teaching
Because WONU is owned by
Olivet Nazarene University , it is used as a teaching station. The Bourbonnais studio contains a radio classroom with 20 computer stations configured specifically to teach radio. Olivet's communication department employs a full-time radio professor to teach the classes.Chicago Bears

pledge drive 2007, WONU announced that it will expand toHD Radio in 2008/09. According to on-air announcements, this will allow two additional digital signals on the 89.7MHz frequency.
