Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast

"Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast" is Kid Rock's debut album, released by Jive Records in 1990. A college radio station which played an uncensored version of the song "Yo-Da-Lin In the Valley" was fined $23,700 by the FCC. Jive let the album sit and dropped Kid Rock from their label soon after. The album sold 100,000 copies upon initial release. Atlantic reissued it in 2000.

This remains the only Kid Rock album to be in the iTunes market.

Lyrical Content

Main topic is sex with the tracks " Yo Da Lin In The Valley","With A One Two","Wax The Booty" and "Pimp Of The Nation". New York's Not My Home trashes New York City and Style Of X Pression is a cautionary song on problems of the time stating we all need to come together. The rest of the album are party songs.
