Independent station for the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex, licensed inDeSoto, Texas , owned and operated by Mako Communications. It is not available on eitherTime Warner Cable ,Charter Communications , orVerizon FiOS at this time. This station initially began as a repeater for
Univision affiliateKUVN-TV . In2004 KUVN sold the low-powered station to Mako Communications, making the station anAmerica's Store affiliate for 2 years. At that time, the call sign eventually changed to K31GL. During the summer of2006 , the station picked up Almavision. At one time in the late 80s a non-profit organization secured a construction permit for a full-power station in Channel 31 that would have broadcast from Fort Worth with the calls KETE-TV. However, the organization never built the station and the CP was cancelled by the FCC.
On late
2006 , Almavision programming ceased on the station and started airing an all-infomercial format, which is still broadcasting to this day. This is much likeKSEX-LP 's current format.External links
