|Barry Egan (born
18 August ,1972 ) is a former Irish sportsperson. He playedhurling with Cork in the 1990s.Barry Egan was born in
County Cork in 1972. He was educated locally and later studied computers at the Cork RTC. Egan playedGaelic games with his local Delaney Rovers club and was soon noted by the Cork inter-county hurling selectors. He first tasted hurling success in 1990 when he won a Munster minor medal, however, the side were defeated in the All-Ireland Minor Final. The following year (1991) Egan was on the Cork under-21 side that won the Munster championship, however, All-Ireland glory eluded him. He made his senior debut for Cork against Waterford in theNational Hurling League in 1992. He later went on to win his first Munster Championship that year, however, Egan was once again defeated in an All-Ireland final by Kilkenny. In 1993 he won aNational Hurling League medal with Cork, however, championship success remained elusive. Egan won another National League medal in 1998 and retired shortly after from inter-county hurling.
