Mainly 1950's era low rise apartment buildings and an old turn-of-the century market garden community that was absorbed by the city as it grew, the neighborhood remains very much as it was half a century ago. Being difficult to access, with no major arteries going in or out, there is little traffic, and the only amenities in the area are in the Stonegate Plaza, which include delis, dollar stores, a pharmacy, a laundromat, and a Valu-Mart. The southeast portion of the neighborhood is relatively low-rent, also low-crime, with a high population of European immigrants.
