The Vic Theatre, designed by architect John E.O. Pridmore, opened in 1912 as the Victoria Theatre. It took three years to build the luxurious five-story vaudeville house. The Vic Theater can easily accommodate 1400 people with seating for 1000.

When not showcasing live music, the Vic opens its doors as the Brew & View, a second-run movie theatre.

Papa Roach recorded "Live & Murderous In Chicago", a DVD of their live performance at the Vic. Jim Gaffigan's "Beyond the Pale" CD, DVD and TV special were recorded at the Vic in 2006. Wilco recorded "" at the Vic in May 2005.
