Baron Marc Bossuyt (born 9 January 1944 in Ghent) obtained a Ph.D in Law at the University of Ghent in 1968 and a Certificate of international relations at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna in 1969. He is professor emeritus of international law at the University of Antwerp, a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague and a judge at the Belgian Constitutional Court.
He was appointed to the Constitutional Court by Royal Order on 28 January 1997. Since 9 October 2007 Bossuyt is the President of the Dutch linguistic group of the Constitutional Court of Belgium. He was ennobled as a baron in the 2009 honours list.
