History

Viqarunnisa Noon School is one of the top-most ranking schools in Bangladesh. It was established in 1952 by Begum Viqar un Nisa Noon, wife of Firoz Khan Noon, the then governor of East Pakistan. From that, till today, this school is keeping its image equally remarkable in the sky of Educational institutions...

Founder

It was founded by Begum Viqar-un-Nisa Noon, who was Austrian by birth, English by upbringing, and Indian by taste.Fact|date=February 2007 She was married twice, both times to Indian men.Fact|date=February 2007 In 1945 she married Sir Feroz Khan Noon, who was the Indian High Commissioner in England. She later 'muslimized' her name Victoria to Viqar-un-nisa.' She came to the religion of peace.

Feroz Khan Noon later became the first Governor of East Pakistan and ultimately the Prime Minister of Pakistan in 1957. The Noon family often participated in social work and Viqarunnisa Noon School was one of its projects; there is also a Noon Educational Foundation that funds Pakistani students to study in Oxford and Cambridge.

Today

VNS kept its name when Bangladesh emerged as an independent nation in 1971 and is today one of the top rated high schools in Dhaka.Fact|date=September 2007 Consequently, admission is highly competitive, with a micro-industry of admission test prep and tutoring existing solely for VNS.

The students of Viqarunnisa are significantly brilliant in studies as well as in co-curricular activities. It has different clubs which arrangaes different inter class and inter school and college competitions and festivals yearly.

It has a well equipped computer lab and a library enriched with varieties of books and magazines. It has a huge Auditorium.
