The film is about two warring royal families in Rajasthan, India called the Mirtagarh and the Surjangarh. Raja Jaswant Singh (Vinod Khanna) returns from England shocked at the extent the war has gone on between the two families. He is too however fated to continue this bloody family tradition by fighting Maharaja Prithvi Singh. Years later the sons of Maharaja Bhavani and Maharaja Prithvi respectively Vikram (Sanjay Dutt) and Vinay (Sunny Deol) are the best of friends living in England. Vinay even wants to marry Neelima (Raveena Tandon), the sister of Vikram which could finally signal the end of the Mirtagarh and Surjangarh feud.
