Donnaleigh Bailey (born 17 January 1983, Birmingham) is an English actress, best known for playing Brummie Senior Practice Nurse Michelle Corrigan in the BBC One daytime soap, Doctors.

Career

BBC soap Doctors (2006-2010)

Bailey is best known for playing the role of Senior Practice Nurse Michelle Corrigan in the BBC's daytime, Birmingham based, soap opera Doctors. Her first episode Junk Soul Brothers aired on the 8 June 2006. Her last episode, titled Canute, was on 13 August 2010, over four years after she first appeared. In 2007, she was nominated for Best Actress and Sexiest Female in the British Soap Awards for her role. She was again nominated for Sexiest Female in 2009.

Other appearances

During 2001 she had a recurring role as Jenny in the Carlton Television revived series Crossroads. The following year she began her studies at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).

In 2004 Donnaleigh had a guest spot on the BBC One continuing medical drama Holby City. She played Debbie Allen, a pregnant teen who loses her unborn child, in the episode One is the Loneliest Number]. Bailey played the part of Colleen O'Malley in Ruffian Productions' Martha Loves Michael during the 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance.

Personal life

Born in Birmingham, England, Bailey is of Jamaican descent on her American-born father's side and of Irish descent on her mother's side. Although she was born and raised in Birmingham she is an avid Liverpool F.C. fan.
