Plutography

Plutography

Plutography is a word coined by Tom Wolfe to categorize books and other media that describe the lives of rich and famous people, often uncritically. He used the term to describe the television serial "Brideshead Revisited" and "Upstairs, Downstairs". "Livin' Large", "MTV Cribs", and "The Fabulous Life Of" constitute a new generation of plutographic television. Magazines such as "Robb Report" and "Millionaire" are also well-known plutographic media.
