Edgar "Jones" Jones

Edgar Jones is an English musician from Liverpool, formerly known as Edgar Summertyme.

He formed The Stairs, a sixties oriented band with English Beat, Garage Rock, Blues Rock and Psychedelic influences, as vocalist and bassist with Ged Lynn (rhythm/lead guitar), Paul Maguire (drums) and Jason Otty (harmonica).

After the breakup of the band in 1994, Jones has worked with Paul Weller, Johnny Marr, St Etienne, and Lee Mavers, as well as forming The Big Kids, who featured two of the future Zutons, and Howie Payne of The Stands.

In 2005 he published his first solo album "Soothing Music for Stray Cats", a recording encompassing elements of jazz, r'n'b, soul, and doo wop. Edgar played on the debut album of Liverpudlian singer Candie Payne (released in 2007), as well as numerous live dates [cite web|url=http://www.stranger-mag.com/reviews/music/dot-to-dot-festival---live-review.html |title=Candie Payne in Stranger Magazine] , although he has now given up the role.

Edgar is known as 'Collymore' to his close friends.
