Jacques Coeur , treasurer of the French king, lived in this "hôtel" from its construction in 1432. He let build the vaulted cellars andcoffered ceiling s in the building. In the 1675, the "Trésoriers de France" bought it, an administrative body in charge of the royal estates inLanguedoc , and they added the impressive staircase andfaçade . It is also known under the name of Lunaret, afterHenri de Lunaret who bequeathed the "hôtel" to the city of Montpellier.
