It is the only high school in the Ottawa Hills Local Schools district. The school's mascot is the "Green Bears."

Students
The school frequently consists of between 300 and 400 high school students with the largest being the Class of 2010 (about 95). Known for academics, students at Ottawa Hills excel with a college preparatory curriculum.[citation needed]
Athletics
The Green Bears have won multiple state titles. Most recently, the boys soccer team won the 2008 Division III State Championship. Boys basketball made it to the state final four for the first time in school history in March 2010, losing to Newark Catholic 48-36 in the state semis.
Notable alumni
—Tom Scholz- Lead guitarist of the band Boston. A top student and a member of the varsity basketball team, he graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1965. Prior to his musical career, Scholz received both a bachelor's degree (1969) and a master's degree (1970) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked for Polaroid Corporation as a senior product design engineer.-
-Jamie O'Hara - Country singer / songwriter, Wrote the # 1 Grammy winning country song of the year "Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Ol' Days)" in 1986, performed by the group The Judds. Jamie was also one half of the band, The O'Kanes who had a #1 country song and 7 charted tracks in the mid 80's, the band broke up in 1990. He has written several #1 country songs and Hot Billboard singles for many artist, his first #1 was in 1981 with the song, "Older Woman" recored by Ronnie McDowell. He graduated in 1967 from Ottawa Hills where he played Varsity Football. He came back in 2005 for the dedication of the new Norm Niedermeier Football stadium to honor his friend and former coach.
-Christine Brennan (born May 14, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio) is an American sports columnist, TV and radio commentator, best-selling author and nationally-known speaker. She is especially known for her coverage of the Olympics and has written three books on the subject of figure skating: the best-selling Inside Edge (1996), Edge of Glory (1998), and Champions on Ice (2002).
