Alan Oirich has been working in
Jewish media and creative education for twenty years as writer, animator, director, and producer. He is Director of Production forShalom TV , and has been writing film reviews professionally since the 1980s.Creator of the critically acclaimed Jewish Hero Corps comic book series, Mr. Oirich was the recipient of a New York State grant for developing animated films. He created and produced the animated "Virtual Shabbat" CD-ROM for The National Jewish Outreach Program, and later developed several Jewish and
Israel -oriented cable shows, including one for theWorld Zionist Organization .Additionally, Mr. Oirich curated a traveling exhibit on Jewish values and themes in
comic books , designed interactive educational seminars and game show formats, and remains a frequent lecturer on the use of popular culture in Jewish education. He has addressed theWorld Jewish Congress , Council of Jewish Federations,Jewish Agency , South African Zionist Federation and many other organizations, with his creative endeavors receiving favorable press inThe New York Times , The Chicago Tribune, The Toronto Star, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Wilmington News Journal, TheBoston Globe , The Christian Science Monitor and The San Francisco Chronicle.
